Wanted: Tax-Aide Helpers

Source: From the AARP Bulletin print edition | October 1, 2009

No matter what you’re good at, the AARP Tax-Aide program probably has a volunteer opportunity just right for you.

Next spring, about 35,000 people nationwide will help low- and moderate-income taxpayers, particularly those age 60-plus, prepare and file their tax returns. Trained volunteers will greet clients, fill out forms using tax prep software, manage computers or publicize the program.

Administered by the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS, AARP Tax-Aide helped more than 2.6 million taxpayers last year. To sign up, visit www.aarp.org/taxaide.
