The Iowa State Fair: An American Classic

This year, more than a million people from around the world traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, to experience the country’s most famous state fair.

Since 1854, the Iowa State Fair has given its guests good times, memories—and perhaps a few extra pounds—as it earned its place in the best-selling book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. In case you didn’t make it to the fair, here’s a small slice of the fun.
