Pulling No Punches
Saoul Mamby declares that his love of boxing is why he’s still fighting at 61. “I don’t follow a script geared to what everybody thinks I should do,” he says. On March 8, boxing historians say, the Bronx, N.Y., grandfather of 11 became the oldest pro boxer ever during a 10-round loss. This month, the 147-pound, 5-foot-9 Mamby is expected to wage another welterweight bout.

Westin Hotels & Resorts is introducing a BrainBody fitness program that will include memory-enhancement aids such as brainteasers imprinted on in-room coffee coasters. Look for more companies to offer ways to stay sharp mentally, says Gary Small, M.D., a UCLA professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences who helped design the brain exercises.
