The "Temple of the Warriors: Rebuilding a Maya Monument" exhibit will open with a presentation by museum director Marc Thompson and a reception at 2 p.m. Sunday and will remain on display through Oct. 4 in the musuem's auditorium. "A Musical Journey Into Ancient Mexico: A Family Workshop" will be 2-4 p.m. June 13 in the musuem's auditorium; the musical group CEIBA will lead families with children ages 6 and older in a musical exploration of art and music inspired by the ancient Maya and their neighbors. Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center -- Building 1735, Marshall Road on Fort Bliss. Exhibits illustrate the U.S. Army's Air Defense Artillery from World War I to Operation Desert Storm. Air-defense weapons of several countries are on display in the outdoor weapons park. Also on exhibit is the story of Fort Bliss from 1848 to the present, featuring many colorful personalities and activities in the Army's important relationship with El Paso. The museum also has a gift shop. About a mile south of the main museum is the replica of the Magoffinsville Post as it appeared from 1854 to 1868.
