Education

Sister Mary Peter Muehlenkamp has been named president of Aquinas College.

Lisa L. Rollins of La Vergne has joined RIP magazine, a Washington, D.C.-based educational publication designed for urban and at-risk youth, as a contributing editor and editorial adviser. Rollins will help guide editorial direction, develop the quarterly publication's editorial style and work with Middle Tennessee State University journalism students who will contribute articles. Joshua A. Graham of Madison has joined the magazine's editorial staff as a regular contributor and graphic designer.

Franklin-based Lighthouse Counsel has announced these staff additions:

Joan Adams Bahner joins as a senior consultant after more than 20 years of leadership in strategic planning, implementing special projects, policymaking, problem solving, public relations, fund-

raising and communication.

Emily Toopes Layton joins as client support and services coordinator.

Diane Miller is vice provost at Middle Tennessee State University. Miller, a professor of mathematical sciences, has served as interim vice provost since January. Miller will continue as director of the university's Undergraduate Research Center and the McNair's Scholars Program, as well.

Tennessee State University will honor Yvonne Y. Clark, former head of the Department of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science, for more than 50 years of service.

Cheng H. Khoo is the new registrar at Vanderbilt University. For the past decade, Khoo has served as director of admissions and records at West Virginia University.

Legal services

Chambers USA 2008 has cited Lawrence R. Ahern III, managing partner of the Nashville office of Burr & Forman, for his leading work in bankruptcy law. Ahern practices in the firm's business and litigation section. Ahern is an adjunct professor of law at Vanderbilt University Law School.
