YORK -- Lillian Jane Stewart Barnwell, 82, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at her home in York.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Don Thacker and the Rev. Susan Denne will be officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A resident of York, Lillian was a daughter of the late John Franklin Stewart and Bessie Ann Wilson Stewart. She was a member of the Fist Presbyterian Church, where she was a choir member for over 60 years and was in Circle 4. Lillian also took part in the thrift store ministries, was active in Golden Ages and was a member of the Latta Extension Homemaking Club. She worked downtown for a number of years in the York Drug Sore and Boylin's Department Store.
She is survived by her husband, James "Bo" Barnwell of York, S.C.; three daughters, Stewart A. Dragner of Rock Hill, S.C., Vickie B. Johnson and husband, David, of Lincolnton, N.C., and Lisa B. Baker and husband, Alfred H., of Rock Hill; son, James B. Barnwell of York; grandson, Louis James Dragner and wife, Katherine B.; and wo granddaughters, Katrina D. Wood and husband, Andrew and Amanda J. Pantelidis and husband, Nick.
Visitation will be held at the Gillespie House at First Presbyterian Church today, March 15, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m.

SMYRNA, Ga. -- Mrs. Jessie Lucretia "Jessie Lou" Carlton Brook, 86, passed away at Tranquility Hospice in Smyrna, Ga., on March 13, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Louie & Louise (Durham) Carlton and the widow of Jesse W. Brook.
A native of Union Point, she had moved to Smyrna to be near her only son. She had also lived in Rock Hill, S.C. for many years, active in the Oakland Baptist Church, teaching a children's Sunday School class and involved with the Sunbeams. While living in Union Point, she attended the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brook attended Union Point High School, where she played basketball. She also attended Massey Business School in Atlanta and worked with her husband for a number of years and then as a sales clerk at Belk's.
Survivors include her son, John Brook of Smyrna, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Rachel Carlton of Atlanta and Virginia Brook of Charleston, S.C.; five nieces and nephews, Barry and DeAnn Johnson, Sonny and Louise Massey, Louie and Wanda Carlton, Barbara Sherrer and Matt and Susan Brook.
Visitation will be held today, March 15, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Bert Mathews officiating. Callaway Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
LANCASTER -- Mr. William Donald "Billy" Enfinger, 70, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Lancaster Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brian Hovis officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Lancaster Children's Home, P.O. Box 416, Lancaster, SC 29721.
CHESTER -- Mrs. Derotha Foster, 97, of 876 Darby Road died Friday, March 14, 2008, at her home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Denton Funeral Home of Chester.
ROCK HILL -- Mr. Henry Junior "Weeboy" Hemphill, of 549 Arch Drive, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Boyd Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor J. Thomas Barber officiating. Bishop B.R. Wilson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hemphill may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until time of the service Monday at the church. The family will receive friends at the home.
APOPKA, Fla. -- Mrs. Pearl Carter Martin, 92, of 1030 Balmy Beach Drive, formerly of Great Falls, S.C., died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Balmy Beach Retirement Home. Mrs. Martin was the widow of Charles Austin Martin.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at the graveside at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls, with Dr. Randall Ruble officiating.
Born in Embry, S.C. on July 25, 1915, Mrs. Martin was a daughter of the late Robert Frank and Manie Idora Myers Carter. She attended Winthrop College and was a graduate of Limestone College with a B.A. in Home Economics. She also earned a Masters Degree in Religious Education from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Great Falls and Westside Baptist Church of Gainsville, Fla.
Mrs. Martin was a Baptist missionary in the Appalachian mountains, a dietitian at Gaffney Junior College and an English teacher at Westwood Junior High School in Gainesville, Fla. Often called "Minnie Pearl," she enjoyed dancing the Charleston and her favorite color was purple. She was a passionate Gator fan, an avid reader and a first class cook who could whip up a southern dinner complete with coconut cake in no time flat.
Mrs. Martin was a teacher her entire life, both professionally and personally. While she had many talents, her greatest was her ability to teach love to her fellow man. She was a living example of the Christian life; she practiced what she preached. As a Christian, she was committed to promoting the spiritual growth of others without ever being judgmental. She always demonstrated her God-given gifts of a gentle spirit and amused others with her zany humor.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara L. Martin and husband, Randall Engar of Orlando, Fla.; son, C. Richard Martin and wife, Fawzia of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandsons, Austin R. Martin of St. Augustine and Richard M. Leon of Costa Rica.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Avenue, Great Falls.

FORT MILL -- Ms. Joanne Hill Holland Bundza died March 8, 2008, at Myrtle Beach Manor, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Ms. Bundza, born in Lawrenceville, Ga., was the daughter of the late Everette Lee and Mary Anglin Hill. She attended the College of Commerce in Rock Hill and worked as a secretary and in retail sales till her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Holland; her brother, Everette Lee Hill Jr.; and her sisters, Barbara H. Jolly and Ellen Yongue McGinn.
Surviving are her brother-in-law, J.C. Jolly; her sister-in-law, Frances Grant of Rock Hill; former husband, Elmer Bundza of Fort Mill; and nieces and nephews, Kim J. Boyd, Jaime Jolly, Luanne H. Curry, Michael Hill and John Hill, all of Rock Hill, Bill Yongue of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Jody Yongue and Jane Y. Roberts of Myrtle Beach.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 15, 2008, at Laurelwood Cemetery.

CHARLOTTE -- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Jackson McKee, 83, died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at the Wayne Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Zoar United Methodist Church Family Life Center, with the Rev. Bob Roten officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Born in York, S.C., Mrs. McKee was a daughter of the late David McClain Jackson and Frances Hogue Jackson. She was retired from the Mecklenburg County School District and was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Michael E. McKee and wife, Cecelia, of Mirmar, Fla., and Stan D. McKee and wife, Felicia, of Charlotte; two brothers, Donald M. Jackson and James J. Jackson, both of Rock Hill; two sisters, Bettie J. Westerlund of Rock Hill and Rebecca J. Roberson of Aiken; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelly Knox McKee Jr.; and a son, Kenneth Dean McKee.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 15, 2008, at Zoar United Methodist Church Family Life Center.

CHESTER -- Mr. Charles Gary "Buck" Rainey, 74, of 574 Pryor St., passed away at his home Friday, March 14, 2008.
Visitation will be 3 until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, S.C., and other times at the home of Al and Dee Rainey, 574 Pryor St., Chester. A memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC.
A native of Rock Hill Mr. Rainey was retired from the S.C. State Parks System and served in the U.S. Army and the S.C. National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annemarie Becker Rainey.
Mr. Rainey is survived by his two sons, Al Rainey and his wife, Dee, of Chester and Robert W. Rainey and his wife, Anne, of Dallas, N.C.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
