Heather was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, and attended St. John the Baptist Parochial School, first enrolling in pre-school, kindergarten and then graduated from eighth grade. Heather was presently enrolled in her fourth year at Clareview School in Greensburg. She loved attending school, excelled in spelling and loved riding the school bus. At the age of six, Heather was a Make A Wish Child and visited Disney World with her family. After receiving instruction and classes from her father, she earned her first degree Green Belt at Schwartz's School of Tae-Kwon-Do. Her life was filled with challenges and she faced them with her constant companion, a baby doll, which she fondly called "Baby." Heather was known by her family for her love of purses. In addition to her loving and caring parents, Glenn and Joanna Maselli Schwartz, Heather will forever be remembered and loved by her family, her dear brother, Joshua A. Schwartz and his wife, Iryna Yavorska, of Scottdale; her loving and devoted sister, Malia A. Schwartz, at home; her maternal grandparents, George and Diane Swank Maselli, of Acme; maternal great-grandmother, Esther B. Swank, of Connellsville; her great-aunt, Georgia Martucci, of Scottdale; and a number of uncles, aunts and cousins; her special friend and aide who assisted her at St. John Parochial School and Clareview School, Rita Kirel and her husband, Jim, of Mt. Pleasant. Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Kenneth L. Schwartz, Jan. 11, 1990, and Betty J. Roadman Schwartz, Sept. 10, 2006; maternal great-grandparents, Antoinette Martucci Maselli and Nick Maselli and William Swank; paternal great-grandparents, Helen and James Roadman and Lydia Pearl Loucks Schwartz, March 11, 1999; and paternal great-great-uncle, James Loucks, May 4, 2009. Heather's family will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Parting prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a con-celebrated Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. John the Baptist with her friend, the Rev. Leonard W. Stoviak, and her pastor, the Rev. E. George Saletrik, as con-celebrants. Committal service interment will follow in the Alverton Cemetery. It would be Heather's desire that memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity in her memory.
