--Occasion: Reception hosted by Pattye and Mark Moore in the home of Sissy and Dan Tubb. Alumni of the University of Oklahoma Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication listened to an update on plans for Phase II of Gaylord Hall and were told about dedication ceremonies set for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
--Guests: Students from the Gaylord Ambassadors student leadership program and Gaylord College alumni.
--Speaker: Dean Joe Foote talked about new faculty members John Schmeltzer and Robert "Pritch" Pritchard. Schmeltzer is the Engleman-Livermore Professor of Community Journalism, and Pritchard is faculty adviser for the L+A Group, a new student-run advertising and public relations firm.
--Nice touch: Sissy Tubb is daughter of the late Cecil Samara, a devout OU fan. Guests enjoyed seeing her collection of Sooner memorabilia dating to the 1950s, including numerous OU buttons, glasses, programs, ticket stubs, footballs, watches, belt buckles and jewelry.

--Party: Tool and bar shower for engaged couple Reistle Holliday and Christopher Cohenour at the Wedge Pizzeria on Western.
--Hosts: Sally and Steve Bentley, Fanny and Don Bolen, Martha and Ron Bradshaw, Sue and Jim Fellers, Sally and Bill Hood, Dahl and Bob Luttrell, Lynda and Chuck Nelson, Nancy Olney, Kathy Rodgers, Sally and Randy Royse, and Susan and Pat Sigmon.

FIRST LUNCHEON
--Event: Kim Henry was hostess for the first Ovarian Cancer Research Fund luncheon. It featured an educational program about the research. Luncheons throughout the United States were held in September.
--When, where: Sept. 2 in Phillips Pavilion at the Governor's Mansion.
--Speaker: Dr. Joan Walker. Larry Bump was the Oklahoma City Research Foundation ambassador and underwriter.
--Favors: Gifts of a new line of L'Oreal Color of Hope cosmetics, luncheon bookmarks and foundation banded bracelets were given to guests.
LOTS OF PINK STUFF
--Party: Emily Zahn Braly, Fort Worth, Texas, was honored at a baby shower. Hostesses were Lisa Banks, Christa Chain, Paula Glass, Margaret Ringwald and Betsy Thorpe in the Thorpe home.
--Attending: Linda Zahn, Rosie Zahn, Lynne Zahn, Addie and Regan Zahn, Maggie Zahn, Marilyn Sullivan, Harriett Weirich, Janet Price, Kim Meacham, Peggy Burris, Sharon Philbin, Ferrelyn Oakes, Mary Casey Kelley, Judy Bodenhamer, Cathy Waldo, Sharon Rundell, Jana and Amy Herritt.
--Due: Emily and Scott Braly are expecting a baby girl in October.
SUSTAINING EVENT
--Party: Lynne Alexander entertained 75 sustaining members of the Edmond Women's Club in her Oak Tree home. Co-hostess was Tracy Sadler. Candace Zaslaw is the club's sustainer chairman and planned the party.
--Buzz: They talked about the Holiday Home Tour, set for Nov. 21-22, which will feature Edmond homes decorated for the holidays.
--Special guests: Six past presidents: Julie LeBlanc, Linda Slawson, Veta Roberts, Cathy Haggard, Jeri Harris and Shannon Rhorer.
