HealthAlliance with Physicians, Inc., which includes CentMass Association of Physicians, Inc. (CAP), was named to the 2009 Harvard Pilgrim Adult Physician Group Honor Roll with distinction, as well as the Pediatric Physician Group Honor Roll.
They join a select number of adult and pediatric physician groups that have achieved exceptional results in their approach to disease prevention and the treatment of chronic illness.
Harvard Pilgrim selected the Honor Roll physician groups based on clinical performance measured against national standards set by Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set, a tool developed for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to assess the clinical performance of doctors and other medical professionals.
Harvard Pilgrim identified practices whose performance was in the top 10 percent nationally on a majority of quality scores adult measures, such as cervical, breast cancer, chlamydia and colonoscopy screenings and diabetes management and asthma and antidepressant medication management, as well as the monitoring of patients on persistent medications.
Quality scores for pediatric practices included well child and adolescent visits, chlamydia screening, asthma medication management and upper respiratory infection management.
Eighteen adult practices making the Honor Roll achieved the respected with distinction status, meaning they have performed at or above the 90th percentile in all measures.

Thirty physician groups were named to both the Adult and Pediatric Physician Group Honor Rolls.
"It's all about working with your patients to keep them healthy, and we are honored that our clinical performance has again been recognized by Harvard Pilgrim," remarked Dr. Robert Fraser, a Leominster internist and the group's medical director. "Our primary-care physicians work very hard and the system's CAP has established to make sure patients get the care they need are very effective."
