Gov. Steve Beshear this year named David O'Neill, the Fayette County Democratic Party chairman, as the new PVA.

The Executive Branch Ethics Commission last year investigated True for nepotism. But a Franklin Circuit Court judge in June ruled that the panel lacked jurisdiction. True employed her mother at the PVA office, but she has said her mother was hired when her husband, Rene True, was PVA.
