AARP State President George Hieronymus
George Hieronymus has a long record of service to Alaska. He currently works as Senior Consultant and Chief Operating Officer for The Foraker Group. He has lived in Anchorage for 19 years and has a wealth of experience in nonprofit management. He served on the board of Bean's Cafe in Anchorage for seven years, two as Board Chair. He then left the board to become Executive Director of Bean's, a position he held for six years. For three years, Hieronymus served as the Program Officer for Health and Human Services for the Rasmuson Foundation, Alaska's largest family foundation. Now at the Foraker Group, he has developed sabbatical programs and specializes in issue-specific facilitation. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin. He is on the board of the United Way of Anchorage, the Anchorage Downtown Partnership, and Shiloh Community Development.
AARP Executive Council Member Rosemary Hagevig
Rosemary Hagevig is the Executive Director of Catholic Community Service in Southeast Alaska. She has served as President and on the Boards of the League of Women Voters, Southeast Conference, Alaska Municipal League, and is a former Juneau assembly member. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Government and Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast.
AARP Executive Council Member Charles Johnson
Charles Johnson is the Chief Commissioner of the Bering Straits Regional Commission. He is a member of the U.S. Delegation to Arctic Council, U.S. Delegation to Pan American Conference, Alaska Water Commission and Oversight Council of International Arctic Research Center.
AARP Executive Council Member Barbara Rich
Barbara Rich retired from the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. She taught middle school Mathematics and was a Guidance Counselor. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a Masters Degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
AARP Executive Council Member Ken Osterkamp, Ph.D.
Ken Osterkamp is the State Director for the AARP Alaska State Office. He has managed organizations in the private and nonprofit sectors, and has extensive experience in business strategy consulting and public policy research. Prior to joining AARP, Osterkamp served as the chief executive officer for Alaska 20/20, an independent, nonpartisan nonprofit with a mission to educate and engage citizens in measuring and improving social, economic and environmental quality of life in Alaska. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in political science with a focus on public policy and international political economy.
